Today we will share some examples of different approaches to self-evaluation: self-reproach, reduced self-criticism and adequate self-esteem. 

Let’s start.

Self-reproach: This is horrible! How could I screw up like that! 

Reduced self-criticism: Oh well, it could happen to anyone, there’s just a tiny bit of damage. 

Adequate self-esteem: I made a mistake. How can I fix the consequences and make use of this experience in the future?

Self-reproach: It’s all my fault, only my fault…

Reduced self-criticism: I have no problems! And if someone doesn’t like something, I don’t care!

Adequate self-esteem: Where are the borderlines of my responsibility in this situation?

Self-reproach: Who needs me like that?

Reduced self-criticism: Nobody is worthy of me!

Reduced self-criticism: I do everything perfectly! What’s your problem, I don’t get it?!

Adequate self-esteem: I did a good job. I can do things differently and improve my result next time if I want to.

Self-reproach: How could I do this???

Reduced self-criticism: I don’t give a damn. 

Adequate self-esteem: I’m not happy about my actions. 

But I chose to do this, so there must have been a reason for that. We need to figure out what it was.
